Layel Camargo specializes in creative influencing and artistic direction across media, and visual art. Their practice is rooted in curiosity-driven relationship building, with a focus on identifying values-aligned stakeholders all while creating captivating stories, narratives and art.

Art Commission & Artistic Creative Direction
In collaboration with Native-led organization, Illuminative and Arts organization, The Center for Cultural Power, Layel Camargo, led concept development, execution and art direction. In collaboration with Indigenous Artist Ernesto Yerena, Camargo led the dissemination and impact of the piece. The overall campaign encouraged constituents to call the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources to appoint Deb Haaland for the Secretary of Interior. She was appointed in March 2021. The art piece was featured on many sites most prominently on InStyle Magazine.
50th Earth Day
Art Commission & Social Media Campaign
In partnership with The Center for Cultural Power and EARTHDAY.org, Camargo led commissioning artists, creation of dissemination strategy and co-creating the direction of each art piece with each artists. Exemplifying 50 years of Earth Day Celebrations Layel commissioned 12 art pieces some featured below. Working alongside emerging artists as well as established artists such as Jackie Fawn and Ernesto Yerena. Commissioned at the height of the pandemic, Camargo commemorated the celebratory anniversary alongside the hightened public health crisis. Camargo coached artists, while maintaining timelines, collaborated with EARTHDAY.org in disseminating the art pieces, tactfully and coherently. These commissioned pieces can still be found resurfacing the internet around the anniversary of Earth Day.
